James Bursey is a BBC Radio 1 Producer. He currently produces Zane Lowe’s shows from 7pm to 9pm Monday to Thursday on Radio 1.

“Producer Jim” programs one of the most musically diverse shows on the station, playing dance, indie, urban, pop and everything in between, leaving no space for anything other than exciting tunes.

In addition to selecting new music for the show, James’ role at Radio 1 also involves unearthing classic tracks and forgotten gems. Consequently he owns a perfectly crafted library of songs from the last 15 years to compliment the new productions he has at his disposal. 

James has upfront access to music via his contacts throughout the industry, from major label record companies to hot new artists and producers. Radio 1 puts him in the unique position of being able to keep in touch with the music that young audiences are listening to AND to influence it, shaping the UK’s music scene via the nation’s most popular youth radio station.

Tech Requirements:

·      2 x Pioneer CDJ1000’s (MK2, MK3 or MK4).
·      One good quality mixer, Pioneer DJM-800 or similar with level monitors and separate bass, mid, treble and gain controls for each channel.
·      Full PA and monitor.
·      Two 13A mains supplies.
